Hello!
------
Thanks for trying out BMF's NES Palette! This palette, when used in
conjunction with any NES emulator that supports external palettes, will make
NES games look as close to the real thing as possible. I've spent nearly 2
years working on my palette-extraction methods; this is the result of many,
many experiments with different methods, some successful, some not-so-
succesful. I hope you like it!

What's new in Revision 1?
-------------------------
Recaptured the colors after *properly* readjusting my video game monitor -
this fixed several weird colors (Mega Man 3, Magnet Man stage: notice drastic
difference in sky shading).

What's in the bag?
------------------
The archive (BMFFINR1.ZIP) should include the following files:

* BMFFINR1.PAL - The palette file, 192 bytes, raw RGB values. This is what you
                 load into your NES emulator.
* BMFTVPR1.PAL - Same palette as above, but without any brightness/contrast
adjustment. The method I used to create this palette produced
very dark colors, most likely due to the difference in gamma
levels between TVs and computer monitors. If BMFFINAL.PAL is
too dark or too bright for you, try adjusting this one until
it looks good on your monitor. You can open it with any paint
program that supports RAW files; I use Paint Shop Pro. Use
the following options when opening: Size 16x4, Three channel
(RGB), Header size 0, Interleaved, RGB Order.
* BMFFINR1.TXT - The file you're reading now!
* NSTCLPAL.IPS - An IPS patch that overwrites NESticle's ugly internal palette
with this palette. Please apply only to an _unmodified_
NESticle version x.xx executable! I can't be held responsible
for any damages caused by patching either the wrong version
or an already-modified version. You have been warned.
* UIPS.COM - A neat little IPS patcher by Neill Corlett. Run it without
                 command-line arguments for simple instructions.
* PATCH.BAT - For those of you that have no idea what an IPS patch is or
how it works, this batch file will automagically replace
NESticle's palette for you. Simply copy NSTCLPAL.IPS,
UIPS.COM, and PATCH.BAT to your NESticle folder, and run
                 PATCH.BAT.
